PLEASE NOTE ATTACHED EXTREME WEATHER ALERT. It would be appreciated if clubs could take the necessary action to ensure that Patrol Captains for the coming week-end are made aware of this and that the following actions are undertaken - all patrol members are made aware of the alert
- sufficient cool water is made available for patrol members and the general public if required
- first-aid rooms are checked and made ready for any heat related emergency
- additional shade is made available if necessary
- as there could be a large increase of persons attending the beach for relief Patrols should be prepared to extend their patrol hours to suit the number of persons that are using the beach at the normal end of patrol time.
- Surfcom will be extending its operating time if clubs do operate extended patrol hours.
